
A motorcyclist died Thursday night after he reportedy collided with a vehicle on Augusta Road.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the S.C. Highway Patrol are investigating the wreck, which occurred at approximately 8:40 p.m. in the 4400 block of Augusta Road in Lexington.
According to Coroner Harry Harman, David O. Perry, Jr., 37, of Lexington, was traveling north on his motorcycle when an SUV traveling south attempted a left turn and the two collided in the motorcyclist’s lane.

Perry, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to Palmetto Health Richland, where he later died. The driver of the SUV, George Grant Hunter, of 1688 Jessamine Road, Lexington, was not injured. No charges have been filed yet.
The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
