Registered Sex Offender From Lexington County Arrested in Florida
U.S. Marshals arrested Anthony Scott Ebersole at a campground in Florida on June 6.

A Lexington County man wanted for failing to update his address on the S.C. Sex Offender Registry was arrested recently in Florida.
Anthony Scott Ebersole, 47, was at a campground in Crescent City, Fla., last week when U.S. Marshals arrested him, according to a press release from the U.S. Marshals Service. His last registered address with the sex offender registry was on Forts Pond Road in Pelion, Lexington County.
When the Lexington County Sheriff's deputies tried to verify Ebersole's address in March, they were told he had moved, according to the press release.

Ebersole was convicted of two counts of criminal sexual conduct in 1981, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. He is required to be registered as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
The Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force began surveillance at the Crescent City Campground on June 5, according to the press release. The next day, Florida's task force and U.S. Marshals surrounded Ebersole's trailer and ordered him to exit.

Ebersole, also known as Tony, was taken into custody without incident and booked at the Putnam County Jail in Florida, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. He is being held with no bond until he can be returned to South Carolina to face his outstanding charges.
