Lexington Men Arrested for Alleged Theft

Pair allegedly stole scrap metal from home near Gilbert

Two Lexington men have been arrested and charged with theft after they allegedly stole about $300 worth of scrap metal outside a home near Gilbert.

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies on Wednesday arrested Dane Prescott Bolland, 20, of 166 Cornerstone Lane, Lexington, and Aaron Mitchell Eagerton, 20, of 128 Wynnsum Trail, Lexington, each on a charge of petit larceny.

Both men were released from the Lexington County Detention Center on Thursday after each posted a $2,130 bond.

At about 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Joe Auckerman, who serves as the resident deputy for the Gilbert, Hollow Creek and Summit communities, Sgt. Sam Gunter and Sgt. Brad Melton responded to a call concerning a larceny that was in the process of being committed outside a home on Shore Road, Sheriff James Metts said.

The officers found that Bolland and Eagerton were allegedly stealing steel beams, steel trusses and other building materials that were sitting in a pile outside the home.

Metts asked anyone with information concerning additional criminal activity involving Bolland or Eagerton to call the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department at (803) 785-8230 or CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
