Lexington One Announces Kindergarten, First Grade Registration
Several pieces of documentation required to register your rising kindergarten or first-grade student from Jan. 23 to Feb. 3.

Lexington One elementary schools will register children for kindergarten and first grade from Jan. 23 to Feb. 3, the district announced Friday.
For a list of specific dates and times at each school, go to the “Upcoming Events” section of the district’s website.
To register your child, parents must bring the child’s birth certificate (the long form that gives parents’ names, and not the short certificate or wallet card) and a completed S.C. Certificate of Immunization to the school for which your child is zoned.
For proof of residency, parents must bring a current electric bill/statement showing the name and home address within the district and a S.C. driver’s license or other state or federal photograph identification.
If you are unable to produce any of the documents listed above, please contact the school or the Office of Student Services at 821-1029 to discuss alternative documentation.
Here is the specific registration information for each age, from a district press release:
4-year-old kindergarten
If your child will be 4-years-old by Sept. 1, 2012, your child may be eligible for the half-day 4-year-old kindergarten program. You must apply for the 4-year-old kindergarten program at the elementary school your child would normally attend.
5-year-old kindergarten
If your child will be 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2012, your child is eligible for 5-year-old kindergarten. You must register your child at the elementary school your child would normally attend even if your child currently attends a 4-year-old program in Lexington One.
First grade
If your child will be 6 years old by Sept. 1, 2012, your child is eligible for first grade. If your child currently attends 5-year-old kindergarten in Lexington One, you do not need to enroll your child for first grade. This is done automatically for you. However, if your child currently attends a private 5-year-old kindergarten, you must register your child at the elementary school he or she would normally attend.
