LHS Musical Duo Seek Glory
Lexington High freshmen are in running to win statewide "This School's Got Talent" contest. Your vote might seal their win, and a chance to perform with the stars.
A pair of talented musical freshmen from are looking for their first big break. And you can help put them over the top.
Brett Fenstermaker and Nathan Duell, the LHS freshmen duo in question, are currently in third-place in the BB&T "This School's Got Talent" contest.
If you like their rendition of the Rascal Flatts' tune, "Bless the Broken Road," then now is the time to go vote for them.
Says nominator Dawn Grosjean: "Brett and Nathan are former students of mine that are very musically talented. They are performing 'Bless the Broken Road' by Rascal Flatts. They are freshmen at Lexington High School and are both in the high school orchestra. Both students play many different instruments and are fun to watch perform on stage!"
The contest has 11 finalists, culled from more than 100 across South Carolina. You can vote once per day. The finalist with the most votes as of 11:59 p.m. on April 1 will be the winner.
So what's at stake for the Fenstermaker and Duell duo? The winner will earn the opportunity to perform live at the televised "South Carolina Teacher of the Year Celebration" on May 1 in Columbia.
Further, this year, as an added bonus, the winner will also be invited to perform at the opening concert for the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corp. on May 18 in Greenville.
Plus, BMW -- the presenting sponsor of the state Teacher of the Year Celebration -- welcomes the talent show winner to perform with members of Hootie and The Blowfish, and other celebrity performers.
