LHS Wildcats Receive More Preseason Love
CBS Sports' "MaxPreps" website ranks football team 6th best in state

With a potent offense, the state's top player in wide receiver, Shaq Roland, and a defense that looks to improve, the Lexington High School Wildcats are getting plenty of preseason love from pigskin prognosticators heading into the 2011 season.
SCVarsity.com recently ranked the team 7th in its preseason 4-A rankings. Now, MaxPreps.com, run by CBS Sports, rates the Wildcats the 6th-best team in the state and tops in the Midlands region — regardless of classification — just behind Goose Creek, and ahead of Greenwood.
Other local schools making MaxPreps' ranking of the state's best: Irmo (8), Hammond (11), and Dutch Fork (12). Both Irmo and Dutch Fork will play the Wildcats this season. Another LHS foe in 2011, North Augusta, ranked 14th in MaxPreps' preseason Top 15.
