LPD Arrests Two for Burglaries

Police allege pair committed numerous burglaries in the Old Cherokee and North Lake Drive areas of town.

believe they have solved a number of daytime residential burglary cases that have recently plagued the Old Cherokee and North Lake Drive areas of town, Chief Terrence Green said Monday.

The arrests were aided greatly by watchful neighbors, Green noted.

Based on vehicle information obtained from "alert and observant neighbors" within a subdivision where one of the burglaries occurred, an officer conducting area patrols observed a vehicle which matched the description within a nearby apartment complex, Green said.

"If not for neighbors looking out for each other and providing us this information, there is no doubt these criminals would have struck again," Green said. "Fortunately no one had been at home during the previous burglaries. However had they not been stopped, that could have changed and anything could have happened."

Arrested were Alexander Craig Wilson, 25, of Lexington, on charges of second-degree burglary, grand larceny, larceny, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wilson faces additional narcotics charges and charges related to property found from a theft from a motor vehicle, which allegedly occurred prior to the burglaries within the same apartment complex. An LPD release did not name the apartment complex or the exact neighborhoods where the burglaries allegedly took place.

Further investigation also led to the arrest of Joshua Ryan Davis, 23, of Irmo. Davis is also charged with second-degree burglary, grand larceny, larceny, and faces additional charges pending further investigation, Green said.

During the execution of a search warrant on Wilson's apartment, and with Davis' cooperation, multiple items allegedly stolen in the burglaries were recovered. The items include laptop computers, other electronic devices, a television, three firearms, and jewelry. Some of the items recovered also were allegedly stolen from a pawn shop in Rock Hill and a jewelry store in Augusta, Ga., Green said.

Both Wilson and Davis could face additional charges and are being investigated by other agencies for the alleged Rock Hill and Augusta burglaries, according to Green.
