Man Steals Credit Card Information From West Columbia Hotel

Lexington County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who stole credit card information from a West Columbia hotel, according to news reports.

The man entered the Hampton Inn around 10 p.m. on May 23 and was asking about a reservation his uncle made the previous day, according to a report on WLTX. The desk clerk found a reservation that was made just an hour and a half before the man came into the hotel, not on the previous day. 

The man told the clerk he didn't have a credit card to pay for the reservation, according to the report. The clerk went to get the folder with credit card information to see if there was already a card on file. 

When she placed the folder on the counter near the computer, the man jumped towards her, took the folder and fled, according to the report. 

The man was described as African-Amerian, wearing a a blue t-shirt with a basketball on it, a blue baseball cap with two yellow wings on the front, blue jeans and “Michael Jordan” basketball shoes, according to The State.
