Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Pickup
So far this year, the number of Lexington County motorcycle fatalities ranks second statewide

A motorcyclist died Wednesday afternoon when he was struck by a pickup truck on Glenn Road in West Columbia, according to Senior Trooper Brent Kelly of the S.C. Highway Patrol.
According to Kelly and Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman, Antonio M. Hill, 20, of West Columbia, was driving his 2004 Honda dirt bike in a driveway in the 200 block of Glenn Road when he lost control of the bike, entered the roadway, and was struck by a 1984 GMC truck driven by Rodney Lykes, 37, of Lexington.
Hill was transported to Lexington Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries, Harman said. Kelly said Hill was not wearing a helmet.

Lykes, who was wearing his seatbelt, was not injured in the wreck, Kelly said.
No charges have been filed, but the accident remains under investigation by the Coroner’s Office and the Highway Patrol.

So far this year, Horry and Lexington counties have recorded the highest number of motorcycle deaths in the state, according to the Highway Patrol. Horry has 13 and Lexington, nine.
