Update: Pedestrian Killed in Lexington Identified
Accident happened on West Main Street on Tuesday night when pedestrian was reportedly hit by a SUV.

UPDATE: Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1:30 p.m. -- A pedestrian struck and killed Tuesday night while crossing West Main Street in Lexington has been identified as Randy L. Pearson, 55, of Lexington, said Lexoington County Coroner Harry Harman.
Original story: A Lexus SUV traveling west along West Main Street on Tuesday night struck and killed a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the roadway, according to Lexington Police Lt. Wally Bledsoe.
For awhile, West Main Street was closed between Thompson and Derrick streets, Bledsoe said. The location of the collision, which happened around 7:30 p.m., was reportedly near the at 811 W. Main St., and , which is located across the roadway at 748 W. Main St.
The Lexington Police Department along with the Lexington County Coroner's Office continue to investigate the collision.
The identity of the deceased was being withheld late Tuesday night pending notification of the next of kin by the coroner's office. No other details were available.
