Swansea Women Killed in Wreck

Women killed Monday in collision with tractor-trailer.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol's MAIT team are investigating a fatal vehicle accident which occurred Monday afternoon at the intersection of St. Matthews Road and Calvary Church Road, in Swansea.

According to Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman, Victoria L. Snyder, 42, of Swansea was traveling southbound on Calvary Church Road when she ran the stop sign at the intersection and collided with a tractor-trailer traveling westbound on St. Matthews Road. 

Snyder was entrapped in her vehicle and had to be extricated. She was pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries she received in the accident, Harman said.

An autopsy was scheduled for Snyder on Tuesday.

The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT.
