Update: Pair Killed in Wreck Identified
Pedestrian and driver die in Friday morning wreck.

Update: 5 p.m. Friday -- According to Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman, Robert A. Beaver, 27, of Leesville was driving a 2003 Mazda Protégé in the 3000 block of Highway 378 westbound when he lost control of his vehicle, ran off the roadway and struck a guardrail and then struck a pedestrian, who was identified as Terry R. Parker, 57, of Marion, NC. Both Beaver and Parker were pronounced dead at the scene.
Autopsies performed Friday indicated that Beaver died from traumatic injuries to his head and neck. Parker died from multiple traumatic injuries.
Original story: A pedestrian and the driver who struck her were both killed in a collision Friday morning in Lexington County, according to the state Highway Patrol.
The patrol said that a 2003 Mazda driven by a 28-year-old man from Batesburg-Leesville was traveling west on US 378 when it crossed the center line and struck and killed a 58-year-old man from Marion, N.C.
The car then struck a guardrail, killing the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, the highway patrol said.
The wreck remains under investigation. Names of the deceased have not yet been released.
