Two Killed in Wreck

Deadly weekend on Lexington County roads results in two more traffic fatalities on Sunday.

, another wreck claimed the lives of two more on Sunday, authorities said.

Tony Lamar Hill, 25, and his mother, Tanya H. Dash, 42, both of Columbia, were traveling in a Ford Explorer westbound on I-20 at mile marker 58 (U.S. Highway 1 exit) when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway, striking the median cable barrier. The vehicle overturned, ejecting the victims and killing them both, Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman said.   

The victims were not wearing seatbelts and were pronounced dead at the scene from head and body trauma.  

Two other unidentified occupants in the vehicle were transported to Palmetto Health Richland with non-life threatening injuries, Harman said  

The accident remains under investigation by the Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol's MAIT team.
