Two teenagers have been charged with breaking into a home on Crystal Creek Circle near Chapin, the Lexington County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday.
Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said the teens, ages 14 and 15, and both of Chapin, were released to their parents’ custody. Under South Carolina law, the sheriff cannot release information that could identify the two boys because they are minors.
Sgt. David Amick, who supervises the Chapin Patrol District, will recommend that the 11th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office prosecute the teens in family court on a charge of second-degree burglary, Metts said.
