Update: Coroner Identifies Fatal Crash Victim
Motorcyclist killed when his bike collided with horse trailer on I-26
Lexington County Coroner Harry O. Harman has identified the motorcyclist who was killed in a collision on Interstate 26 in Lexington County close to midnight on Monday as James Allen Farmer, 28, of Cayce.
Farmer was riding his motorcycle in the eastbound lanes between I-26 and U.S. Highway 378 around 11:56 p.m. when his motorcycle struck the back of a horse trailer being hauled by Donnie Creech of Cottageville, said the Lexington County Sheriff's Departmnt.
Creech was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the accident. An autopsy performed on Mr. Farmer on Tuesday revealed that he died from blunt force injury to the head.

The collision also caused a fire, killing two horses inside the trailer.
The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
