The stirring "Win it for Kennedy" video has won the LHS Wildcats' baseball team the distinction of being the nation's "Signature Squad."

With 385 votes to spare, the Wildcats' baseball team has won EvoShield's national "Signature Squad" contest, thanks to the "Win it for Kennedy" video that chronicles the amazing relationship between the Wildcats and 13-year-old Lexington girl Kennedy Branham, who has inspired them with her courageous battle against brain cancer.
The team has dedicated their playoff run to Kennedy, who has just completed her first round of chemotherapy, according to mom, Erin.

With the EvoShield contest won, the team can now focus on the real task at hand -- winning a state 4A championship in baseball.
The Wildcats will take on the White Knoll Timberwolves tonight at White Knoll. The winner of this elimination game will face Ashley Ridge for the Lower State Championship and a birth in the state championship series.

Tonight's game starts at 7:30 p.m. at White Knoll. Admission is $5.

But a state championship isn't the only thing the top-ranked Wildcats are vying to win. There's also a national championship of sorts on the line.
