Weeklong Traffic Crackdown Underway
The following Lexington roadways will see increased patrols by deputies and state troopers.
The Lexington County Sheriff's Department has announced the latest roadways where it will conduct stepped up traffic patrols, which began Thursday morning and will run through next Wednesday, March 7.
Deputies, along with S.C. Highway Patrol troopers, will be cracking down on speeders, as well as reckless and drunken drivers. These patrols are in addition to the stepped up traffic locally and statewide over the New Year's weekend.
The targeted roadways include:
- Ashland Road
- Murraywood Drive
- Coldstream Drive
- Wessinger Road
- Midway Road
- Tickle Weed Road
- Charlie Rast Road
- Old Cherokee Road
- Bush Berry Road
- Reed Avenue

Be warned: While these are the announced roadways for the following week, Lexington County Sheriff James Metts said they are subject to change without notice.
