Officers with the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) on Thursday arrested a pair of West Columbia men on charges that they allegedly operated a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory at their home on Delree Street near West Columbia.
Lexington County Sheriff James Metts said NET officers arrested John Roy Amacher, III, 43, of 3929 Delree Street, West Columbia, on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine and possessing marijuana.
Officers also arrested William Auston Cash, 47, of 3929 Delree Street, West Columbia, on one count of manufacturing methamphetamine, two counts of distributing methamphetamine and one count of possessing a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
Amacher and Cash each were being held on Friday at the Lexington County Detention Center while awaiting bond hearings, Metts said.
On Thursday, NET officers executed a search warrant at the Delree Street home that Amacher and Cash shared, Metts said. Officers obtained probable cause for the search warrant after conducting an undercover investigation concerning meth sales at the home.
Officers allege Amacher and Cash were operating a clandestine meth lab inside the home, Metts said.
Metts asked anyone with information about illegal drug activity in Lexington County to call the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department at (803) 785-8230 or CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
