• Two men arrested in Murrells Inlet after traffic stop leads to drug seizure: GCSO (counton2.com) — Georgetown County deputies say a Friday night traffic stop in Murrells Inlet led to the seizure of suspected cocaine, marijuana, and other drugs after a vehicle allegedly tried to evade law enforcement near 17 Bypass and Pendergrass Avenue. Two Conway men were arrested and taken to the county detention center, where they're awaiting bond hearings.
   

• Fords at the Shore kicks off inaugural year on the Grand Strand (wmbfnews.com) — A new nine-day "Fords at the Shore" car week is bringing Ford-powered vehicles, discounts, and charity fundraising to several Grand Strand communities, including Murrells Inlet, through Sept. 13. Organizers are working with local mom-and-pop businesses, stressing safety and family-friendly activities, and are already talking with city officials about making the event an annual tradition.
