Myrtle Beach weighs changes to golf cart parking plan after residents raise concerns (wbtw.com) — Myrtle Beach officials are reconsidering a major expansion of golf cart parking along the north end after residents warned it could worsen congestion and safety risks at busy beach accesses. The advisory committee reviewed options between 34th and 82nd Avenue North and will now send the plan back to City Council, with locals pushing for smaller clusters of spaces, clearer entrances, better signage, and stricter enforcement.
   

2. Horry Co. man arrested in child solicitation case (wpde.com) — Police say a 37-year-old Horry County man was arrested near Highway 501 and Third Avenue South in the Myrtle Beach section of the county after an investigation into alleged sexual exploitation of a child. Authorities report the case began in late June, involves several serious solicitation-related charges, and remains under investigation with limited details released to protect the child's privacy.
   

3. Marlboro County storms past Myrtle Beach in season opener (myhorrynews.com) — Myrtle Beach High's football team opened its season with a tough 61-20 loss to Marlboro County after the game was moved up to avoid Friday storms. Coach Mickey Wilson called the defensive performance embarrassing, while praising Marlboro's standout quarterback and stressing that the Seahawks must improve quickly on that side of the ball.
   

4. Group visits Myrtle Beach to talk eroding consumer ownership rights in technology (wpde.com) — A national consumer advocacy group stopped in Myrtle Beach to warn residents about how tech subscriptions and copyright rules can limit true ownership of everyday devices, cars, and games. The FULU Foundation's local event promoted right-to-repair protections and invited attendees to send letters urging Rep. Russell Fry to back new federal safeguards before the tour continues north.
