• Prospect of final home game looms for Lexington's Fryland (thelakemurraynews.net) — Newberry High’s girls and boys soccer teams were both on the road Tuesday chasing spots in the Class 3A Lower State finals, with the boys potentially set to meet Swansea. While Lexington’s legendary coach Chris Fryland eyed a possible final home game, Newberry squads battled top-seeded Oceanside Collegiate Academy and pushed deeper into the state playoffs. 
• South Carolina Upstate Starbucks votes to unionize (wbtw.com) — Newberry’s Starbucks is among several South Carolina locations that have already voted to unionize, joining a growing push for better pay and working conditions at the coffee chain. A Greer store just became the seventh unionized Starbucks in the state, as workers statewide prepare for negotiations over wages, staffing levels, and job protections.
