• Myrtle Beach Bike Week riders stress safety after deadly weekend (wbtw.com) — A motorcyclist visiting from North Carolina died after a crash near 1610 S. Highway 17 Bypass in Surfside Beach, one of three fatal motorcycle wrecks during Myrtle Beach Bike Week's fall rally. Authorities and grieving family members are urging everyone on Grand Strand roads to be more vigilant, especially as heavy rally traffic continues through October 4. 
• Myrtle Beach youth football program gets nationally ranked, headed to playoffs (wbtw.com) — A Myrtle Beach youth football team that practices at Surfside Christian Church in Surfside Beach is heading into the playoffs ranked 20th in the nation. The undefeated 10U Myrtle Beach Megalodons will travel for an October 31 playoff game, hoping to earn a championship hosted at Socastee High School while continuing weekend practices on the Surfside Beach church field.
