Pet Therapy Volunteers-TheraPAW

TheraPAW Volunteers Needed in Upstate!

How do you and your best friend become a TheraPAW volunteer?

• Meet with Providence Care volunteer coordinator and attend volunteer orientation

• Volunteer Coordinator will assist you in completing evaluation and registration with national agency, Therapy Dogs, Inc.

• Process begins with a test done by certified testers/observers in your area. This test includes a handling portion which tests your dog’s basic good manners and your own handling skills. If you and your dog pass, you move to the next step of interacting with residents on three supervised visits

• Complete required observation visits with certified testers/observers

• Submit required paperwork to TDI for Membership Certificate!

• Commitment: TheraPAW/ TDI volunteers act as public ambassadors at visitations. Each visit typically lasts for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Each visit is pre-scheduled at your convenience.

• If you and your pet have already obtained registration status, please contact us now to get started! We need you!
