BMW Boasts Strong March, 1Q Sales
Vehicles manufactured in Greer continue to be a bright spot for the German automaker.

BMW reported record sales for March along with strong first-quarter sales, the automaker said.
BMW sold 159,195 vehicles in March, up 4 percent over sales of 153,016 for the same month in 2012. Sales for the first quarter hit a record 381,404 vehicles, up 7 percent over the same period of 2012.
Sales of the X3 and X5 sports activity vehicles manufactured at BMW’s Spartanburg County facility in Greer “continued to be solid through to the end of March,” the company said in a news release.
Globally, sales of X3s were up 2.7 percent to 36,189 vehicles for the quarter, and sales of X5s reached 27,274, also up 2.7 percent for the first quarter.
