"It is time for change. Not rhetoric of change, but a record of change," said Gov. Rick Perry
Greenville, SC – On Saturday a record crowd of over 300 attended Gov Rick Perry’s “meet and greet” at Tommy’s Ham House.
The distinguished South Carolina statesman, David Wilkins, former speaker of the S. C. house and Ambassador to Canada gave Gov. Rick Perry a key endorsement. Wilkins stated that Perry is the best candidate because he has a proven track record in Texas on creating jobs.
“Instead of vacationing in Martha’s Vineyard Obama should go to Texas and learn how to create jobs for the American people,” Wilkins said.

“I have led that state based on a few guiding principles. Number one, don’t spend all the money; we have 6 billion dollars kept in a rainy day fund. Number two, keep the taxes low; have a regulatory system that is fair and predictable, and a legal system that doesn’t allow over suing,”
“I know how to get this economy moving again. Since June 2009, my home state is responsible for 40% of all jobs created in America. We need to get our fiscal house in order and restore our good credit. It is time for change. Not rhetoric of change, but a record of change. We will get America working again,” Perry said.
After Perry gave his 7 minute speech he moved through the crowd shaking hands and answering questions.
Small business owner Mike Walker was among those who wanted to know more about Gov. Rick Perry.
Walker considers himself as part of the Tea Party movement.
“I am a fiscal conservative. Government regulation is killing our nation. I am a small business owner. I own a roofing company and regulations are killing us.”
“ If we can get regulation out of the way and change our tax code to a fair tax the country’s economy would boom. The regulation and compliance weighs down small business. The bigger problems are the unnecessary regulations and the cost of complying with federal regulations. It is absolutely killing our economy,” said Walker.
