When someone invites me over for a get together, I always feel that I should have something in hand when I come over. The one staple that I make is "Peppermint Pattie Brownies". It is a simple recipe but brings brownies on a whole new level.
Ingredients:
1 box brownie mix: usually the box requires 2 eggs, 1/3 cup oil, and 1/4 cup water

Preheat oven to temperature set on the brownie box. Combine the brownie mix into a mixing bowl, stir in ingredients. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan. Bake brownies for required time on the package. (A good way to know if they are done, is to stick a knife down the middle of the brownies and if nothing comes back on the knife then you know they are done.) Take out brownies when about 4 minutes before they are done.
With the oven still on, place the peppermint patties all over the top of the brownies. Put the pan back into the oven for about 3-4 minutes. Take out the brownies, and with a butter knife spread the semi- melted mints around on the brownies. This will give it a "swirl effect". Cut the brownies out of the pan and enjoy!
