Greenville's Center for Developmental Services receives $15,000 grant from Northwestern Mutual
John Tripoli of Northwestern Mutual - Greenville presents a $15,000 grant to the Center for Developmental Services.

Contributing to the community is a way of life for John Tripoli. Northwestern Mutual, through its Foundation, is recognizing him for his work with the Center for Developmental Services (CDS) in Greenville, South Carolina, as a recipient of the company’s 20th annual Community Service Award.
Tripoli, the managing director at Northwestern Mutual – Greenville, was chosen for his outstanding volunteerism, earning him a $15,000 grant for the CDS. The award identifies 16 Northwestern Mutual financial professionals who demonstrate exemplary service with a local nonprofit and honors the organization with a grant on behalf of the volunteer’s work.
The CDS is a unique partnership that connects individuals and families with multidisciplinary services for developmental evaluation, treatment, education and support.

“I’m a proud supporter of the CDS as they were there for my family when we needed treatment for our son,” Tripoli said. “This grant will enable the organization to help other children like him develop the skills and abilities they need to lead a healthy and prosperous life.”
The nonprofit will use the grant money in various ways to ensure it has the greatest impact on the 6,500 children it serves in the community each year.

“Achieving meaningful, lasting change in communities is only possible when someone takes the first step,” said John Kordsmeier, president, Northwestern Mutual Foundation. “The effort John puts into the Center for Developmental Services will not only benefit those involved in the organization, but serves as a model for all of us to follow.”
The Community Service Program honors 16 financial professionals throughout the country who consistently work as exceptional volunteers in their communities. Since 1995, the company has donated more than $4 million to nonprofits on behalf of its representatives.
