It is now 2014 and another new year is upon us. It is time to put those New Year's resolutions to work or is it? Is it good for us to start over each year or should we build off of the past year? I don't have the answer just want to pose the question. Are there things we can improve upon from 2013 or do we need to start over?
I have recently read an article that says to focus on the process and not necessarily the goal. If you focus on the improving the process, the goals will take care of themselves. Florida State Head Coach Jimbo Fisher said on ESPN last night that his team has a philosophy to not care about the scoreboard and just focus on each play and each obstacle or challenge. He says if they do that, the scoreboard will take care of itself. Whether that is "coachspeak" or not, they will play in the National Championship Monday night as the #1 seed and undefeated.
So do we focus on improving our processes and each day or do we set goals? Do we do both? I think the right answer is to "do." Don't just not "do" anything, "do" something! We are blessed to have each and every minute and lets make something great from those minutes. Here is to hoping you "do" in 2014 and have the best year yet!
