Upstate Hospice Patients Need You to Just...

Volunteer!!  Compassionate Care Hospice is seeking special individuals to make a difference as patients visitors for our patients in the Upstate in a variety of ways. Hospice patients are often lonely or cannot be left home alone. Some things Patient Visitor Volunteers might do:

  • Just visit! Play cards, eat lunch together, talk, go for a drive, look at old photographs, share hobbies, rent a movie, etc.
  • Just sit! Relieve the caregiver so they can do errands, visit friends, go for a walk, etc
  • Just walk! Walk the dog or feed the cat
  • Just shop! Go groccery shopping or run errands for patients.
  • Just do! Prepare a simple meal, go to the laundromat, water the plants or lawn
  • Just support! Support and provide companionship for the caregiver

We need both volunteers who can help out as needed and volunteers who will commit to a weekly visit time with the same patient. Not just anyone will do - we want you! A 6 month commitment is requested and training is provided. If you have any questions or would like to apply, please email our Volunteer Coordinator, Tiffany Corbin, at tiffany.corbin@cchnet.net or go online to fill out an application athttp://cchnet.net/hospice/southeast/south-carolina/columbia/volunteer-application-form/
