• After 96 years, this beloved L.A.-area airport will finally open its massive new $1.3 billion terminal next month (secretlosangeles.com) — Burbank travelers will soon use a brand-new $1.3 billion terminal at Hollywood Burbank Airport, with a ribbon-cutting on October 5 and flights starting October 13. The larger, more modern building adds roomier waiting areas, more dining options, upgraded parking and roadway access, while keeping the airport’s convenient size and tarmac boarding that many locals prefer over LAX. 
• James and Chico DeBarge Arrested in Burbank (eurweb.com) — Burbank police arrested musicians James and Chico DeBarge after a late-night traffic stop involving two SUVs without license plates, where officers say they found narcotics. Both men face suspicion of controlled-substance possession, with Chico also booked on an outstanding warrant. Authorities emphasize the case is at the arrest stage, with no court findings yet.
