1. Alcoa, Maryville schools get state funds for maintenance projects (thedailytimes.com) — Alcoa City Schools just received more than $54,000 in new state funding, which they’ll use for masonry work and added security cameras around Alcoa Elementary’s open campus. The money comes from Tennessee’s Public School Construction and Maintenance Fund, which also awarded Maryville City Schools nearly $140,000 for window replacements and other upgrades. Local leaders say the grants help tackle long-standing facility and safety needs.
   

2. Local emergency relief nonprofit launches as Helene, Gatlinburg anniversaries loom (thedailytimes.com) — A new Blount Strong Relief Network nonprofit is forming partnerships with Blount County, the City of Alcoa, Maryville, and other local leaders to better coordinate disaster response before the next major emergency. The group will help organize volunteers, donations, and case management when disasters are declared. Organizers are now seeking residents, businesses, and churches willing to contribute time, skills, or funding.
   

3. Blount County Court Records for Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026 (thedailytimes.com) — Blount County’s latest court filings include an appeal involving the City of Alcoa and a range of local civil, divorce, contempt, and estate cases that may touch Alcoa residents. The report lists new actions in Circuit, Chancery, General Sessions, and Probate courts through Sept. 30. It’s a useful snapshot of ongoing legal matters affecting people across the county.
   

4.
