Here are the top three stories today in Chattanooga:
- The Chattanooga Rotary Club has given a $10,000 grant to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga. The funds will be put toward housing repairs for Chattanooga's lower-income homeowners. The home repair program is one of the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga's most important programs, according to CEO Jens Christensen. (The Chattanoogan)
- Voice Tech is currently being hosted at the Chattanooga Convention Center. The event is a three-day affair that showcases controversial artificial intelligence voice software. Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly spoke at the event and had his speech transcribed in real-time by artificial intelligence. Kelly voiced his appreciation for the event's impact on the city's economy. - The Chattanooga Police Department has arrested a 16-year-old boy in a shooting investigation. The teenager is a suspect in an Apr. 22 shooting that occurred in the 2500 block of Vine Street. A 20-year-old man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
