Here are the top 3 stories in Chattanooga today:

  1. The Chattanooga Chapter of the American Inns Of Court raised $23,850 for the Ronald McDonald House. The CEO of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga shared that donations "are essential to help [them] carry out [their] mission of serving children and families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives." RMHC is currently serving families from 21 counties in TN, GA, AL, and NC, with families staying at the RMHC an average of 15 nights. (The Chattanoogan)
  2. UTC introduced all-inclusive adaptive sports with wheelchair basketball. Intramural Sports and Complex received a grant in 2021, which allowed the school to purchase ten wheelchairs that are designed for any type of adaptive sport. The first season of wheelchair basketball will begin this spring. (The University Echo)
  3. A massive fire destroyed one home and damaged another next door in Highland park. The 50 to 60 firefighters and 12 units arrived in the Chattanooga neighborhood to put the fire out and make sure everyone got out of the houses safely. One of the homeowners was inside when the structure caught fire, but she made it out with her cats unharmed. (WDEF)
