The Signal

Niko Moon Country When Niko Moon first emerged with his triple-platinum smash “GOOD TIME,” the Texas-born singer/songwriter lit up the country scene with his larger-than-life energy and heartfelt message of radical positivity. On his latest LP AMERICAN PALM, the Nashville-based artist takes that mission to a whole new level and immerses the audience in the idyllic landscape that never fails to lift his spirits: the sun-soaked serenity and mind-blowing splendor of the beach. A top-notch lyricist who got his start as a co-writer for the Zac Brown Band and later penned hits for superstars like Morgan Wallen and Rascal Flatts, Niko matches his feel-good fusion of country and timeless pop with plenty of colorful storytelling, instantly submerging the senses in the blissed-out surroundings of the coast. Made with producer Danny Majic (an L.A.-based producer/songwriter who’s worked with OneRepublic, Flo Rida, Galantis, and more), the result is a seaside getaway in the form of an album—equal parts carefree, contemplative, and wildly life-affirming. Whether he’s delivering a summer-ready anthem like “BOAT SONG” or a gently swaying country tune like “KING OF THE ISLAND” (a duet with his father, Cris Cowan), Niko imbues every song on AMERICAN PALM with the deep intentionality he’s embraced since “GOOD TIME” (a No. 1 single that served as the title track to his Billboard 200-charting 2021 debut album). Through the years Niko’s sense of purpose has only gotten stronger, leading him to launch the Happy Cowboy Foundation (a nonprofit that supports mental-health initiatives and addiction-recovery programs) and Happy Himalayan (a premium artesian water brand infused with pink Himalayan sea salt). As his reach continues to expand exponentially, Niko looks forward to taking AMERICAN PALM on the road and interacting up-close with his vast community of fans. “Very few things can unite thousands and thousands of people from all walks of life, but music can,” he says. “It’s an incredibly powerful energy, and as artists we’re able to utilize it for good or for bad. My goal is always to harness that energy to take people in a positive direction, and create an experience where we can all gather and connect and celebrate life together.” Blake Proehl Country North Carolina native, BLAKE PROEHL always had his sights set on the NFL, inspired by his father's legacy in the sport. However, in 2021, while playing for the Minnesota Vikings, he suffered a severe leg injury that changed the course of his life. During his recovery, Blake discovered a new passion for music, first teaching himself the guitar and then immersing himself in songwriting. What began as a therapeutic outlet blossomed into a profound love for music and eventually surpassed his football aspirations. After three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, Blake made the bold decision to follow his heart and pursue a career in music, channeling his experiences and emotions into his art.

Chattanooga Choo Choo

Celebrate the Harvest Moon — A Timeless Autumn Tradition
Join us for an enchanting evening inspired by the Harvest Moon, the legendary full moon that for centuries marked the season of gathering, gratitude, and abundance. Historically, the Harvest Moon allowed farmers to work late into the evening by its golden glow, bringing in crops and celebrating the rewards of the year’s labor. Today, it remains a powerful symbol of prosperity, reflection, and connection.
This special event transforms the Chattanooga Choo Choo into a glowing twilight festival of autumn and moonlight, creating an atmosphere that is romantic, cozy, and beautifully cinematic. Soft lighting, lanterns, and warm seasonal décor will set the stage for an unforgettable night beneath the moon.
Vendors throughout the market will embrace the Harvest Moon theme with curated offerings such as moon-inspired jewelry, crystals, astrology art, candles, lunar prints, botanical creations, and handcrafted herbal teas, potions, and seasonal goods — all reflecting the mystery and beauty of this celestial celebration.
Guests are invited to enjoy Moonlight Tastings, featuring a thoughtful selection of craft beers, ciders, meads, wine, and specialty moon-themed cocktails, paired with grazing boards and artisanal cheese plates designed for strolling and sampling. Visitors may also bring food from the Chattanooga Choo Choo and Station Street restaurants to enjoy alongside their beverages, creating a seamless blend of local dining and festival atmosphere.
Be sure to capture the moment at our “Under the Harvest Moon” photo experience, a beautifully styled backdrop designed to preserve memories of this luminous evening.
This is more than a market — it is a celebration of history, harvest, and moonlit magic, bringing community, creativity, and the spirit of autumn together in one extraordinary night. 🌕✨

All Them Witches Psychedelic You’ll find All Them Witches on the outskirts. This collective of creative outliers have never followed a pre-trodden path or comfortably fit into an existing scene or style. Instead, the band resides at an elusive crossroads where clouds of slow-burning meditative distortion soak up strains of stratospheric psychedelia, out-of-body blues, and thundering no-frills hard rock. The quartet—Charles Michael Parks, JR. [bass, vocals], Ben McLeod [guitar, vocals], Allan Van Cleave [piano, keys, violin], and Christian Powers [drums]—astrally amplify arresting melodies across an ever-evolving landscape, balancing extremes of blunt heaviness and melodic weightlessness, mythos and magic, and dark and light. The group first materialized in Nashville, TN, in 2012. Their organic progression was evident in fan-favorite releases, including Our Mother Electricity [2012], Lightning at the Door [2013], Dying Surfer Meets His Maker [2015], Sleeping Through the War [2017], and ATW [2018]. They reached a critical high watermark on Nothing as the Ideal [2020]. In a “9.0” review, The Line of Best Fit raved, “Nothing Is The Ideal is their greatest achievement to date.” Classic Rock hailed it as “a dark, enticing feast for the senses,” and Paste christened it “a steady mix of gloom and acceptance.” Beyond gracing the stages of festivals a la Bonnaroo, Pukkelpop, and more, they packed houses on headline tours and hit the road with the likes of Mastodon, Primus, and Ghost. Firing on all cylinders with their first new music in over half a decade, they harness the power of their unbreakable union as collaborators and friends on their seventh full-length LP and first offering for BMG, House of Mirrors.

Hunter Museum of American Art

Ridout, Franch-Ballester, and Chien open the season with Horovitz, Schubert's beloved Arpeggione Sonata, and Bruch's Eight Pieces — an intimate tapestry of Romantic lyricism.
In our Season Eighteen opener, violist Timothy Ridout, clarinetist José Franch-Ballester, and pianist Gloria Chien come together for a program that explores lyricism and intimacy through three distinct musical voices. Horovitz’s Sonatina for clarinet and piano opens the evening with wit and charm, moving fluidly from a playful sonata movement to a lyrical song and a spirited rondo finale.
Schubert’s beloved Arpeggione Sonata follows with soaring melodies. Originally written for the arpeggione – a bowed guitar-like instrument that had been invented only a year earlier – the work has found enduring life in other configurations, including this viola arrangement. The program concludes with all three performers joining for selections from Bruch’s Eight Pieces. Deeply expressive and intimate in scale, these works reveal Bruch’s gift for melody through a series of richly textured musical conversations.

Cannons Indie Pop
Los Angeles-based trio Cannons, comprised of Michelle Joy (vocals), Ryan Clapham (lead guitar), and Paul Davis (drums, keys), have established themselves as one of electro-pop's most compelling modern acts. Through their seamless blend of hypnotic synth-craft, atmospheric production, and evocative lyricism, the group has amassed over 1.4 billion global streams, a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, major festival slots, and sold-out headline shows under their belt. With all this success it would be reasonable to take their foot off the gas but Cannons is ready to take the next step in their musical journey with their entrancing fifth album, Everything Glows. Everything Glows radiates a strong sense of camaraderie between the band, who bear witness to one another through travails and triumphs and highs and lows of the past few years. The record’s 11 songs navigate heartbreak and codependence, brokenness and, ultimately, liberation, spotlighting a group that found new ways to move forward and absolute excitement in both the process and its results. Everything Glows is Cannons, cutting itself free.
Caroline Kingsbury Indie Pop
Expect a larger-than-life energy to her iridescent make-up, Bowie-esque boot-and-blazer get-ups and ready-to-risk-it-all ballads that are abundant in brutally honest and vulnerable storytelling lyrics. “There’s something deliciously defiant about Caroline Kingsbury’s approach to pop music…through the holographic lens of 80s maximalism and New Romantic flair, she crafts songs that are emotional, percussive, and dramatic, born from breaking free of the conservative constraints of her Southern evangelical upbringing.” Fresh off electric festival debuts at Lollapalooza and All Things Go in late 2025, Caroline amassed 300k monthly listeners and landed a huge feature in the best-selling game ‘Dispatch.’ Her fan favorite sleeper hit “Kissing Someone Else” accumulated over 6 million streams after the song was featured in Episode 1 and the game sold over a million copies in its first week. 2025 also brought Caroline the viral collaboration with fellow indie pop artist Maris with “Give Me A Sign.” The song landed Caroline a feature for the second year in a row on Spotify’s ‘Best Pop Songs of 2025’ and a co-headline tour. Caroline’s latest release “Shock Treatment,” produced alongside Wild Nothing, is an EP that blurs the line between reality and performance, turning self-expression into an act of revolution. Catch Caroline Kingsbury wrapping up her first headline tour this Spring in support of “Shock Treatment,” followed by UK dates and appearances at Chicago Pride Fest before joining Cannons as direct support on tour in Fall 2026, with more dates and festivals TBA.View Tickets & More Info

Dasher The Band Appalachian Folk
Dasher the Band is the brother-and-sister duo of Max and Laela Dasher, whose sound blends the bayou roots of Northeast Louisiana with the storytelling traditions of Appalachia. Raised singing a cappella in church, the siblings learned the power of harmony early, shaping the warm, haunting vocal style that defines their music. Theirs is a sound that feels both timeless and deeply personal -- songs built on vivid imagery, family roots, and a strong sense of familiar places (front porches, under a mountain sky, and anywhere that stories live in lyric).View Tickets & More Info

Ratboys Alternative Folk
Despite its title, Ratboys’ new album Singin’ to an Empty Chair is not defined by what’s missing. Rather, it’s the beginning of an important dialogue with a close loved one vocalist Julia Steiner finds herself estranged from. The music on the band’s sixth studio album – its first for New West Records – fills the space that person left behind with 11 songs showcasing Ratboys at the peak of their powers — twangy, effervescent, as confident as they’ve ever been, and perhaps more emotionally interrogative than ever before. The four-piece Chicago band followed up 2023’s highly acclaimed The Window by reconvening with co-producer Chris Walla to begin tracking at a rural Wisconsin cabin before taking the songs to Steve Albini’s famed Electrical Audio studios in Chicago and later to Rosebud Studio in Evanston, Illinois. The results veer from bubbly power-pop on “Anywhere” to irresistible post-country on “Penny in the Lake,” along with heart-piercing ballads like “Just Want You to Know the Truth” and an exhilarating detour into the extraterrestrial on “Light Night Mountains All That,” which Steiner dubs the band’s mammoth “wormhole jam.” Singin’ to an Empty Chair also marks the first Ratboys album written since Steiner began therapy, which the singer/lyricist credits for the clarity found across the album’s unflinching examinations of relationship and self. Fittingly, as the album begins by extending a hand into the void, it concludes with a scene of serenity – all while weaving candid honesty, humor, chaos, and whimsy along the way. “It's not all doom and gloom,” Steiner says. “The experience of making this record definitely gives me hope for whatever happens next.”
/// Words by Patrick Hosken
Smidley Power Pop
In the past ten years, Conor Murphy the person and Smidley the band have come to exist beyond the mere creative overflow left unexplored in his work with Foxing. Through his own growth in and out of Smidley, though, art and life itself have entered into an ongoing cycle of redefinition. This redefinition isn’t a destination, but a new pathway paved by Murphy’s gratitude for and security in the artist, husband, and man that he’s become. Smidley’s third album, Murphy Horse, soundtracks this journey.
“These songs summarize a year of confusion and doubt where the only thing I was actually sure of is that I married the love of my life,” Murphy explains. “Those two ideas were the basis for every song here.”
Though doubt remains a recurring obstacle for Murphy, each Smidley song brings him back home to love. The doubt present in the dramatic and sparsely percussive opener “Corpse Flower,” melts away by the first hook of the quirky-yet-danceable “Capstone,” just before a breathy feature from Grammy award-winning singer/guitarist Lucy Dacus culminates in the duo proclaiming, “All this loving you has been the capstone of my life.”
Murphy chides himself for being too career-driven and fantasizing about freedom from such earthly woes over a bittersweet melody on the album’s title track, his spiral repeatedly interrupted by his wife yelling “Hey!” throughout the song. The explosive and vibrant “Love In Every Direction,” sees Murphy lamenting this single-mindedness in the face of all he truly has over an effortlessly danceable indie pop composition that feels destined to create a series of massively emotional festival performances.
All over Murphy Horse are recurring performances tinged with shoegaze, tropicalia, and 80’s rock influence that see Smidley extending beyond his earlier closely-sung, indie folk style. Murphy leans much more into Smidley as an ensemble. Though not a debut by any means, to Murphy, Murphy Horse certainly feels like one. The confusion and doubt are no longer debilitating because Murphy has the support he spent his whole life seeking. Everything and everyone can be repurposed.
