- Chattanoogans in Action for Love, Equality, and Benevolence (CALEB) is calling for the end of cash bail in Chattanooga. The organization held a panel on Thursday night to discuss the proposal with the public. The panel discussed the concerning statistic that Tennessee incarcerates more of its population on average than the United States. (WDEF News 12)
- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga will begin offering graduate assistantship positions to students fleeing Ukraine. Millions of refugees fled Ukraine during the Russian invasion. Many Ukrainian international students are searching for universities to continue their studies and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wants to provide that relief. (Knoxville News Sentinel)
- The Peoples Convoy Official-Tennessee will be gathering in Chattanooga today (Saturday, Apr. 30) before traveling to various Tennessee cities. The convoy will reportedly gather in the Northgate Shopping Mall's old Sears parking lot at 8:00 a.m. Officials with the convoy report that they are hosting the event to "remind DC and all state officials that they work for us."
