Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today:

  1. The spending package Congress adopted last week will allocate more funding for Chattanooga's new courthouse. $85 million will be allocated toward building a new federal courthouse that will replace the existing building that was built in 1933. The old courthouse no longer meets safety, prisoner security, or accessibility requirements for a federal courthouse. (Governing)
  2. The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wrestling team will compete in the 92nd NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships between Mar. 17 and 19. Four Chattanooga wrestlers are at the NCAA Championships this year, including senior Fabian Gutierrez (125), juniors Drew Nicholson (165) and Matthew Waddell (184), and freshman Brayden Palmer (133). 3. A Ukrainian man who lives in Chattanooga is sending help to those on the front lines of the Russian invasion. The man, Alexander Bormotov, is doing his part for the people of Ukraine by founding the nonprofit group Go4Life. Bormotov was born in Russia but raised in Kyiv, Ukraine, where he still has loved ones. Four members of Go4Life recently evacuated 42 people to safer regions and delivered food to 10 families.
