🌱 Chattanooga Hospitals Limit COVID Tests + CPD Officer Funeral

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Chattanooga.

Good day, neighbors! It's me again, Kayla Harrison, your temporary host of the Chattanooga Daily.

First, today's weather:

A passing afternoon shower. High: 55 Low: 33.

Here are the top 3 stories today in Chattanooga:

  1. Chattanooga hospital emergency rooms will discontinue COVID-19 tests to all but those with serious symptoms. The staff wants to ensure they can give immediate attention to those who have symptoms that may require hopsitalization, such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, and stroke symptoms. They encourage those with mild symptoms to get tested at a local testing site. (The Chattanoogan)
  2. Retired Chattanooga Officer Jimmy Carl Ball was laid to rest at the Beulah Chapel Cemetary in Ider, AL. Ball served in the U.S. Navy and as a pastor in Ider before working in the Auto Theft Division and K-9 Division of the Chattanooga Police Department. (The Chattanoogan)
  3. Chattanooga-based Five Star Foods bought Georgia food distributor, Rawls Distributing. They will acquire the Canteen vending machine franchise in four south Georgia counties. As part of purchasing Rawls Distributing, Five Star Foods donated to Coastal Georgia's food bank, and with that money almost 14,000 meals will be given to local families. (Free: Yahoo!
