🌱 Chicken Coop Fire + Funds Raised For Kidney Patients

Here are the top stories today in Chattanooga:

  1. Roberts Mill Road is set to be closed today for much needed cleaning and re-striping. Any drivers in this area should plan on using Signal Mountain Road (Taft Highway), or the West Road since the gates on Roberts Mill will be closed and no traffic will be allowed thru.(WRCB-TV)
  2. A Tennessee state representative has accused a local Christian foster care group of trafficking migrants by working with the federal government to place unaccompanied migrant children with vetted sponsors in the country.(Chattanooga Times Free Press)
  3. The Chattanooga Kidney Foundation's event called Dare To Dance has raised $497,000 for local kidney patients. Because the Chattanooga Kidney Foundation is a non-profit organization, 100% of these funds will remain local for use in the Chattanooga and North Georgia area. (The Chattanoogan)
  4. The newest Chattanooga Publix is not a "cookie-cutter store" according to the developer. The new store will offer a full-service meat and seafood department, along with a pharmacy and wines. The produce department will carry organic and conventionally grown fruits and vegetables. Its floral department will offer a range of offerings from roses to bouquets to pots of lushly colored flowers. The bakery will specialize in products baked from scratch.   5. A Suck Creek Road home was destroyed in a fire with the cause believed to be from a heating lamp in a backyard chicken coop. (WRCB-TV)
