🌱 Children's Safety Event At Zoo + Dance Alive Program Relaunch

Here are the top three stories today in Chattanooga:

  1. A Chattanooga man has accused the Silverdale Detention Center of failing to prevent his stabbing by fellow inmates in a federal lawsuit. The suit claims deputies took new inmates to a cell location that had the reputation for attacking new inmates. Luster Deloney was stabbed six times during the incident on Apr. 23, 2021, according to the lawsuit. (MyFox Chattanooga)
  2. The Chattanooga Zoo in partnership with Children's Hospital at Erlanger is bringing safety education to the community's children on Apr. 20. The event will be held at the zoo and is free with admission. Participants will learn about road safety with full-day activities planned by local public services. (The Chattanoogan)
  3. The Dance Alive program will be relaunched at the South Chattanooga and Shepherd Community Centers. The program will be relaunched by the Pop-up Project with summer camps at the two community centers. The program was first founded in 1997 to provide local children with dance opportunities.
