Here are the top three stories today in Chattanooga:

  1. A collection of community leaders have expressed their support for Chattanooga Police Department's Chief Murphy's decision to reassign 15 officers. The reassignment is due to allegations of misrepresentation or untruthfulness. The placements will be reviewed by an internal committee before being finalized. The review process is separate from any legal action that an officer may take against the city or department. (WTVC)
  2. Chattanooga metro's unemployment rate has decreased. The rate is at a seasonal low of 3.7 percent as of last month. The state's lowest rate was recorded in Williamson County - 2.6 percent. Click for the full report issued by the state's Department of Labor and Workforce Development. (Chattanooga Pulse)
  3. Chattanooga residents can reduce stormwater fees by reducing runoff from their property. The city is encouraging residents to participate in the NoogaKnox Challenge to reduce the amount of pollutants entering the state's waterways and to reduce the burden placed on Chattanooga's stormwater system. Only 25 Chattanooga residents have been certified through the program. Visit the link to learn how to become certified. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
