1. Chattanooga Police may have found the body of a local missing man in the Tennessee River. Police say the body is that of Nick Callegari, a 40-year-old man who was last seen leaving Champy's Fried Chicken on Jan. 1. The body was spotted by two fishermen and took two hours to remove from the river. It has been sent to the medical examiner's office for official identification. (AL.com)
2. The Net Resource Foundation is requesting donations to continue providing senior citizens with necessary cleaning supplies. The Chattanooga-based Foundation had been operating with COVID-19 relief funds, but is now seeking new funding sources as the relief funds expire. Nearly five hundred bags of cleaning supplies were distributed in 2021, and the organization hopes to continue its efforts this year. (Chattanooga Pulse)
3. Chattanooga's own "Conservation Kid" has been nominated for Time's "Kid of the Year." Cash Daniels may be just 12 years old, but he has made national headlines for his efforts of organizing cleanup outings that have removed more than eleven thousand pounds of trash from the Tennessee River. Daniels also runs a recycling program with local businesses and has written a children's book about river pollution. (WTVC)
