Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today:
- A Chattanooga woman has been charged with TennCare fraud. Sara Crawford, 34 years old, was arrested through a joint effort between the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department and the Office of Inspector General. She has been charged with one count of TennCare fraud and one county of theft of property. TennCare paid more than $18,397 on her behalf when she was no longer eligible for the program. (WZTV)
- Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise will be hosting a Credit Smart for LIFE event on Thursday, Oct. 20. The event is meant to celebrate National Get Smart About Credit Day. Participants will learn about wise financial habits and resources for home ownership. Click to register for the event. (The Chattanoogan)
- Chattanooga State Community College has been recertified as an Accredited Test Facility for welding. The accreditation is awarded by the American Welding Society. The school edited its Quality Manual to increase facility functionality. The reaccreditation process was a collaborative effort between Al Curtis, Engineering Technology, and Patrick O'Hagan, the Regional Impact director for Economic and Workforce Development.
