Here are the top stories in Chattanooga today:

  1. There was a shooting on Tuesday night on Highway 153 at Chickamauga Dam. The victim sustained life-threatening wounds. There is no update as of Wednesday morning with details surrounding the case or about the victim. (WDEF News 12)
  2. The Construction career center takes shape in Avondale in an effort to brightly build Chattanooga's future. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
  3. The registered sex offender that was found volunteering at the Dade County High concession stand has been arrested. (WRCB-TV)
  4. Highway 153 in Chattanooga was cleared overnight on Tuesday and was re-opened around 8 AM on Wednesday after the shooting that was mentioned above. Residents have said that the traffic was the worst they have ever seen on this road, and that they are very thankful everything has finally been cleared. (WTVC)
  5. Chattanooga City Council has finally approved the repurposing of the hotel on Lee Highway to be used for affordable housing. (WTVC)
