Happy Friday, Chattanooga! Let's start today off on an informed note, shall we? Here's what's going on today in Chattanooga.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny and cool. High: 55 Low: 37.

Here are the top stories in Chattanooga today:

  1. The first kids in the Chattanooga area got their first round of their Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines on Thursday. This is a major step in eradicating the virus. (WTVC)
  2. A box truck was stuck under a railroad overpass in Chattanooga Thursday morning creating a lot of traffic. (WTVC)
  3. A Ringgold woman was reunited with her missing dog after it went on a cross-country trip with a trucker. The dog ran away during a storm a couple weeks ago and a truck driver found her and brought her along for the ride. Social posts were made urging neighbors to be on the lookout for this missing dog. Somehow, the connection was made between someone on Facebook and the truck drivers involved and the dog was returned to its rightful owner. (WRCB-TV)
  4. A Chattanooga mother is trying to keep her children safe following deadly shooting on her street. She reported the event to Chattanooga Police Homicide Investigators and they are asking for your help to identify the shooter. (WRCB-TV)
  5. Chattanooga has joined the coalition of many Tennessee towns hoping to make the Tennessee River a distance-river paddling mecca. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
