- A Hamilton County youth mentorship and empowerment program hosted an event last week aimed at connecting school counselors with resources for students. On Thursday, The Lighthouse Collective hosted the event with a goal to educate counselors on more resources and options for youth not taking the 'traditional college path' after high school. - A loaded firearm was discovered by TSA at the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport security checkpoint on Thursday. The passenger was escorted out of the checkpoint area by airport police, who took possession of the carry-on bag containing a loaded Ruger .380 caliber handgun.
