Here are the top stories in Chattanooga today:

  1. Hundreds of local first responders commemorated the 20th anniversary of 9/11 this weekend at Ross' Landing. The event was hosted by the Chattanooga Fire Department and the City of Chattanooga. Ron Schlitt, a New York City firefighter who now lives in Chattanooga, recalls 9/11 as "a sight he'll never forget." (WEDF News 12 Now)
  2. Chattanooga police recently found a truck carrying 54 illegally obtained catalytic converters during a recent traffic stop. Officers arrested 52-year-old Eric Webb under a new Tennessee State law designed to reduce the theft and resale of catalytic converters from vehicles.
    The new law makes it chargeable for each catalytic converter in possession.
  3. Burger King recently announced plans for seven new Chattanooga area restaurants and will be looking to hire 150 local workers in the week ahead. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
  4. No students were hurt after a bus was rear-ended in Ringgold on Thursday, says a school official. (WTVC)
  5. The Creative Discovery Museum unveiled a new educational exhibit, Solar @ CDM, along with a 41.9 kilowatt (kW) solar panel system as part of a renovation funded by the Ignite Discovery capital campaign. (The Chattanoogan)
