Here are the top stories today in Chattanooga:

  1. The Walker County school board is accepting some candidates that are going to be interviewed for the vacancy of the District 2 seat, which expires on Dec. 31, 2022. School board member, Carthell Rogers, died unexpectedly last month. He had been appointed to the board to fill the unexpired term of Robert McNabb, who resigned from the seat effective June 1.   2. Gas prices have recently dropped 4.2 cents in the Chattanooga area. (The Chattanoogan)
  3. Local Fare Magazine and Outdoor Chattanooga are partnering up to try and give as many kids as possible some presents from under the tree on Christmas morning. (WRCB-TV)
  4. The Chattanooga Food Bank is sticking it out through the severe weather to give back to those who are in need. (WTVC)
  5. Some Chattanooga parents are wanting more say in the school mask mandates after a judge blocked the new Tennessee law. (foxchattanooga.com)
