Here are the top three stories in Chattanooga today:
- The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred near 700 N Germantown Road on Thursday. The department has closed the 600 block of Tunnel Boulevard while investigation efforts continue. There is reportedly no public safety threat to the area, according to the department. (WTVC)
- The Chattanooga Autism Celebration Walk is being held on Apr. 21 at 9:00 a.m. The walk is being hosted by the Chattanooga Autism Center and is the first walk hosted in spring. There are reportedly more sign-ups that are being attributed to the warmer weather. Participants will be walking around Coolidge Park and activities for children will be available. (WTVC)
- Hamilton County Schools have been recognized as a Reading 360 District. March was Tennessee Literacy Month and the district is being presented a banner at Battle Academy for its work in ensuring all students are on grade reading level by the 3rd grade. It is reportedly the district's hope that all children have access to positive experiences while learning to read. (Press Release Desk)
