Here are the top stories in Chattanooga today:
- The Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk will return this year to Chattanooga on October 30. The event will not be held in its regular fashion due to concerns about the rising cases of COVID-19. Instead, organizers will hold a "Walk Where You Are" fundraising challenge that will include a virtual opening ceremony and scavenger hunt. (Chattanooga Pulse)
- Hamilton County inmate, Charles Levada Shelton, who was accused of murdering a witness and sparked a conversation about witness protection in Chattanooga has died from complications of COVID-19. His trial where he was one of three suspects in the crime was set to begin next week. (WRCB-TV)
- The direct flight from Chattanooga to Houston via the Chattanooga Airport is set to end on October 1. (WRCB-TV)
- Gas prices have been on the rise in Tennessee and the Chattanooga area after the effects of Hurricane Ida. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
