Here are the top three stories today in Chattanooga:

  1. Joshua Goslowsky, a Chattanooga School of Arts and Sciences teacher, has been awarded the Chaffin "Hands Of Service" scholarship. The award was given during the Tennessee Daughters of the American Revolution State Conference on Apr. 22. The scholarship is meant to provide support for a Tennessee teacher working towards board certification. (The Chattanoogan)
  2. Former Chattanooga City Councilman Erskine Oglesby has been released on his own recognizance after turning himself in last week on theft charges. Oglesby has been charged with a single count of theft under $1,000 but a Food City manager has accused him of 22 separate thefts. Oglesby was placed on paid administrative leave from his $93,465 a year position in Mayor Tim Kelly's administration. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
  3. Chattanooga woman Priscilla Ross hit her boyfriend and an apartment building with a vehicle, according to the Chattanooga Police Department. The incident occurred in the 700 block of North Germantown Road last Thursday. Ross has been charged with attempted criminal homicide and felony reckless endangerment. (WTVC)
